Questions for Small Group from Acts 1:12-25
1. How was the Apostles' early ministry in Acts similar to the beginning of Jesus' ministry?
Consider - Waiting on God before major public ministry, the Power of the Holy Spirit, Help with great challenges, and the need for Prayer.
2. In Acts 1:14 Mary the mother of Jesus was there? Was Mary an important person in the church? Why or Why not?
3.3. Judas Iscariot is mentioned in Acts 1:15-20. Why did Judas betray the Lord? Covetousness? The devil? Pride? Why was there a need to replace him?
4. Describe how Peter demonstrated leadership. How did Peter change in his attitude and actions after he denied the Lord? (see Matthew 27:69-75). What changes in your life have happened since you became a follower of Jesus?
5. 5. The early church and the apostles loved the Lord Jesus. In John 21 the Lord had a conversation with Peter after he came back from fishing. The Lord asked Peter three times the question Do you love me. How has your love for the Lord changed you and how have your priorities changed?
6. Peter was restored to the Lord. Can you relate to his experience and share that?
7. Prayer is very important and visible in the life of believers and the church in the book of Acts. It was the very air that they breathed. It strengthened their faith. When Christians prayed - God answered and God worked and the disciples worked too! How important is prayer to you personally and for our church? Why? Give examples.
