Alenna (Predon) & Aaron Husband - InterVarsity - Montreal

Field of Service: Montreal

Mission Organization: InterVarsity (intervarsity.ca)

Ministry: Originally from Northern Ontario, I (Alenna) now live in Montreal, Quebec serving as a Campus Minister with InterVarsity. I am stationed at Concordia University and Dawson College, and I also resource Laurentian University in Sudbury, Ontario. Being shaped by God's Word and led by the Holy Spirit, the purpose of InterVarsity Christian Fellowship of Canada is the transformation of youth, students and graduates, in all their ethnic diversity, into fully committed followers of Jesus Christ. I have the privilege of being able to build relationships with students, equipping and encouraging them to build witnessing communities on campus where students of all different backgrounds can come and catch a glimpse of the goodness of God. It is truly a blessing to journey with students as they discover Jesus at such a critical stage in their lives.

Praise & Prayer:
- “A" has made a profession of faith! Please pray for him and for the students who check-in on him as he continues to wrestle with many questions.
- Dawson College is nearly in a replanting stage. Please pray that God would bring forward passionate students to take ownership of the vision.
- Aaron and I are adjusting to married life, and are learning how to be creative alongside the students in showing hospitality and finding avenues to share our faith. Please pray for wisdom and sensitivity to the needs around us during this Covid season.

Thank you for caring about students. We'd like to start by saying we're grateful to all of you for continuing to partner with this ministry; praying for students, praying for us, and giving financially. We've been strengthened by your prayer, encouragement, and generosity. Thank you! As this challenging year comes to a close, would you consider pressing further into prayer? Would you consider giving a year-end gift?

2020 has been different. Montreal has been on full lockdown since October 1, pushing us into a fully online ministry. We've needed to minimize program based evangelism strategies, but these circumstances have also afforded some opportunities. Students in France are practicing English with us, students in Israel are praying with us, and students are leading from the Philippines and Jordan. What a wild year!

It's also given us a chance for in-depth, online teaching. Focusing on Jesus' all encompassing robust love, we've dived deep into evangelism training and lament that leads to Biblical justice at Concordia University, prayerful challenges through the Psalms at Dawson College, the importance of sharing our faith at Laurentian University, and the primacy of meditating on the Word at Windsor University.
